News: 3/30/08 This weekend was jammed packed with lots of AIChE activities and the pictures can be seen on Facebook group! The meeting with Sage was really successful and we had a huge turn out. Thanks to all the Seniors for showing up prior to Happy Hour :D Crawfish Boil/Happy Hour/Game against Stanford was fun, and it was great to see all the Alum come out and join us for the meeting, Crawfish Boil, and happy hour. A special thanks to Scott Painter and his dad for conducting the cooking for the Boil. And thanks to Sage for another great crawfish boil! McKetta's picnic featured Dr. McKetta himself, Dr. Truskett and Dr. Ekerdt. It's great to see the spouses also made it out. The grilling by Charles and James was fantastic. Kudos to those guys for knowing how to grill up some fajita meat. It was perfect, no offense to our previous awesome grill master, Mark. AIChE members engaged in football, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee. I know the recap sounds like just too much fun, so if you feel like you've missed out, don't worry! We've got another AIChE meeting coming up in just a couple of weeks. Solutia will be swinging by and providing Rudy's BBQ. Rudy's does it right, for those of you who came to the Shell tailgate last semester, you can testify to the high class operation. The time of the year for textbook sell/trade is almost here, so make sure you stay on top of things and get into the AIChE Book Exchange. It's the easiest way to get the books you need from peopl in your major. 3/25/08 So I've failed to update the website diligently; however, don't despair! You can gripe at me in person to do my job this Friday at our next general meeting. I will be there to take all complaints and suggestions for the website. Another great place to catch me this weekend is at the Marinating Party for McKetta's Picnic. Stop by Patrick's place at 10 pm to make some traditional guacamole and marinate some meat. McKetta's Picnic is THIS SATURDAY 3/29, at Town Lake. Show up and get a free shirt celebrating the difficulty of ChE. Directions to McKetta's Picnic 2/4/08 Hey guys! This is your new webmaster Isabel Chan. It has taken a while to get the website set up, but I'll have the new layout up and running as soon as I make sure it's compatible with all browsers. Let me know if there are any broken links or any changes that need to be made. I'll eventually archive all of Charles's announcements and his old layout. We've already had our first meeting of the term, but don't worry! Our next meeting will be on February 15 with Flint Hills Resources. I'll have the pictures up from the first meeting as soon as I finish studying for my Ops II test on Wednesday. 10/23/07 It's that time of year again! Our second set of midterms are just around the corner. Be sure to take a break from studying to join us for our 4th general meeting this Friday, October 26th at 3pm in the CPE. URS is this week's sponsor, and we will be eating food from one of Austin's most-love restaurants: Juan in a Million! For those of you who don't know, Juan in a Million is most known for its breakfast tacos, including the legendary "Don Juan". 7/27/07 Things are kind of at a standstill during the summer. In August things will pick up and get rolling when school starts! Keep an ear out for new information about a possible Book-Exchange for AIChE members so that upperclassmen can sell their course books to underclassmen to cut down on textbook costs and hassle! 5/29/07 Have a restful summer! Thanks to Shell, Marathon, Shaw Stone & Webster, ConocoPhillips, SAGE, Lyondell, and Celanese for sponsoring our events last year! Nationals are coming up: November 4th - 7th in Salt Lake City, Utah! Visit the national AIChE website for more information. 3/5/07 ExploreUT went well! Here's a picture taken by Patrick of me setting some propane bubbles on fire for small impressionable children: ![]() 2/26/07
