Maya

“Maya” is an enthralling fusion extravaganza that interprets the ancient Indian dance tradition of Bharathanatyam from a contemporary perspective. Based on the epic Ramayana, unconventional twists in the tale make “Maya” the magical performance that it is. Voice-overs by eminent artistes such as Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Revathy, Suhasini Maniratnam, Milind Soman and Rohini lend color to the presentation. An accomplished ensemble of artistes accompany Shobana in weaving a vibrant tapestry of dance & drama.

This production also includes a short collage of Bharathanatyam set to world music, with pieces of music from Spain, Western Classical and A.R. Rehman’s ever popular Vande Mataram.
