On the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Association for India's Development Austin chapter is organizing a mass event for showing solidarity towards Indian farmers, as well as to increase public awareness on the issue of India's agrarian crisis.

"Words on Water" - A movie on the Narmada Struggle by Sanjay Kak

AID Austin in association with South Asia Institute will screen "Words on Water" - a documentary which focuses on on the more than 20 year history of non-violent struggle of displaced farmers and tribals in the Narmada Valley.

Mr. Jain and Ms. Bharti work in the Kumaon region of India's northern state Uttaranchal, where they co-founded 'Avani' in 1997, an organization that works on developing sustainable and appropriate technology and livelihood for the people of the region. The speakers will share information about their work.

Run For India 2007 - AID Austin vols run full and half marathons to raise funds for AID projects
