BTS_Phase_II:
AID-Austin approved 4000$ for the recurring costs of the clinic for the first phase which lasted till February, 2003. During this period, a clinic was established with a doctor working for 5 days a week. Six village health workers were identified and they are being trained on various aspects of preventive and curative health.
In February, 2003 BTS submitted the proposal for second phase for the following components.
  1. Establishment of the clinic infrastructure
  2. Making the Revolving Medicine bank sustainable
  3. Holding Awareness Camps
  4. Recurring costs of the clinic.
The project is being co-reviewed by AID-San Diego. The funding for this phase should enable BTS to move towards a self-sustaining model. BTS plans to introduce Family Health Cards scheme, which would require people to contribute Rs24/- per month per family to use the clinical services.
