About the
NGO*: The International Campaign
for Justice in Bhopal (ICJB) is an umbrella organisation of 20
environmental and social justice groups who have joined forces
to campaign for justice for the gas survivors of Bhopal. The ICJB
is spearheaded by women's survivor group, the Bhopal Gas Peedit
Mahila Stationery Karmachari Sangh. More information can be found

Summary
of Project: ICJB (International
Campaign for Justice in Bhopal) is proposing to start a Lunch
Catering business in Bhopal. This business will serve organically
grown food to labor class in local factories, college students,
and non-profit organizations. The basic philosophy is to provide
chemical free food to the local community at a very reasonable
rate, which will also serve as an income generation project for
women gas survivors. The total costs budgeted to initialize this
business are $1,666. The Other Media has approached AID for funding
this project entirely.
Objectives
of Project:
The
goal of this project is to provide economic rehabilitation to
women gas survivors. This project will initially employ 4-5 women
from the women survivor group in Bhopal and eventually transfer
all the business responsibilities to this group.
