Compassion wherever there is suffering. Conviction that the compassion is strong enough to eliminate suffering. Courage to make this conviction a reality. This is AID.

Is your computer feeling neglected?

Then give it a new home.

Digital Divide is a serious issue, especially in India. Association for India's Development (AID) in Austin encourages you to donate your old computer to its annual computer drive to promote digital literacy in India. AID is partnering with Tamil Nadu Science Forum (TNSF) to provide computer access to public schools in Tamil Nadu. In the past couple of years we have sent over 50 computers to schools in Chennai, Pune and Mumbai. We have partnered with TNSF for an ambitious macro-level program in over 4000 villages called the Hundred Block Plan.

Computers Acceptable for Donations:

  • Pentiums 100 MHz or higher in working or near working condition.
  • Software - It is legal to donate software if you give the original disks, license and manual and certify you have no other copies of the software you are donating.
  • Some peripherals like scanners, printers, hard drivers, modems and CD ROM drives.
  • We are not accepting Macs and Monitors at this time.
All donations are assessed for their honest dollar value and are tax deductible.
