The University of Texas at Austin chapter of the American Marketing Association has a rich history. Established in 1950, AMA UT has partnered with the McCombs School of Business and the University of Texas at Austin to provide students interested in marketing an outlet for professional and social development. With the backing of a prestigious university and the nation's third ranked Marketing undergraduate program, AMA UT is proud to represent the city of Austin and its fine university.

Our Mission: AMA UT's mission is to serve the students at the University of Texas at Austin and create opportunities for their professional and personal development while upholding high ethical standards and striving for continual improvement.

Our Vision: AMA UT's vision is to create an outstanding collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association that serves as a model for other AMA chapters and organizations internationally. z

What can AMA UT do for you?

If you are interested in learning more about what AMA UT has to offer, we encourage you to start attending our events!  AMA UT is open to all majors, and everyone is welcome to join.  We partner with many companies and organizations that specialize in marketing to bring you incredible events. In addition, we put on exciting events such as Marketing Week, Mentor Week and the AMA International Collegiate Conference, where we travel to New Orleans and meet and mingle with AMA students as well as marketing professors and professionals.

AMA UT exists to serve students who have an interest in marketing, regardless of their major. The chapter goal is to attract and retain these students as active members of AMA UT. AMA UT has had several successful years which we hope to continue. In 2007 we were recognized as an "Outstanding Collegiate Chapter" at the AMA International Collegiate Conference, held last spring in Orlando. In addition, we were nominated for "Best Professional Organization" by the University of Texas Leadership Board as well as "Most Outstanding Organization" by the McCombs School of Business.

Our awards and accolades are earned through the strength of our officer board as well as our dedicated members. With the help of future AMA UT leaders and members, we can make this organization all that we want!

Also, be sure to check out our Facebook group (American Marketing Association) and our listserv newsletter, which you can request to receive by contacting our Vice-President of Membership at michael.yang@bba06.mccombs.utexas.edu.

In addition, look for more information about our organization and events via the McCombs School of Business. There are flyers continually posted around the University Teaching Center (UTC) and the Business School (CBA & GSB). The Texas BBA newsletter, sent out by the McCombs School, also lists our events. You can also consult the Marketing Department, which is located on the seventh floor of the CBA building.
