Things To Win!

Here is a list of tournaments, awards, and honors that a UT archer can strive to win/earn. In general you must be a full time student or graduating senior and a member of the NAA to be eligible. There are four division in which you compete, Women's Recurve, Women's Compound, Men's Recurve, Men's Compound.

Archery All American - You must shot U.S. Indoor Nationals and the United States Intercollegiate Archery Championships (USIAC). Your indoor score (1200 max.) added to your FITA score at USIAC (1440 max.) is your All American rank. Finish top ten and you are an Archery All American.

Academic Archery All American - Finish top 25% at Indoor Nationals, minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.

NAA Archery Scholarship - $500 for one year. Minimum GPA of 2.50 out of 4.0, two scores from NAA sanctioned adult tournaments during the prior 12 months, one score from USIAC, two letters of recommendation, December 31st deadline. There are eight scholarships given out each year. Application Form.

New Archer Award - Be the best archer at USIAC who learned to shot since the last USIAC was held. One archer is chosen from each division.

World University Games (Universiade) Archery Team - Eligibility is complicated, but if you're a college archer or were one recently you are eligible. And you must show up to USIAC and finish top 3. This is held every two years and it's usually not in the U.S. Woohoo foreign travel!

World University Archery Championships - Held every two years ( alternates with the Universiade) and the eligibility is the same. And it's not usually held in the U.S. For 2006, the team will be selected from Indoor Nationals.

USIAC - This is college outdoor nationals. Win top ten individual in each division (this is top ten at the tournament, which is not the same as top ten for All American.) Top three in team competition in each division.

U.S. Indoor Nationals - ahem...hmmm...well the Aggies will hand out awards for those that show up to the regional, but there are no national awards at the moment. But you do get to brag to your friends that you finish 1st collegiately nationally!

TSAA Indoor and Outdoor Champions -Be best in the state!
