The Association for Women in Communications is a professional organization that champions the advancement of women across all communication disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront of the evolving communications era.

Membership Benefits
Guest speakers- Every AWC
meeting presents members with a chance to meet an Austin professional. Past
guest speakers have been employed at major advertising agencies, public
relations firms and non-profits throughout Austin.
Mentor Dinners- At least once a
month, AWC members will have dinner with a member of the AWC-Professional
Austin Chapter in a more intimate setting to socialize as well as network.
Past mentor dinners have been held at EZ's, El Mercado, and Frank and
Angie's Pizza.
Social Outings- At least once a
month, AWC members are invited to a social during regular meeting time to
get to know each other better and a take a well-earned break.
E-mentor program- Pair off with
a professional in Austin to build an e-mentor relationship.
Volunteer opportunities- Each
semester our Philanthropy Chair puts together a list of volunteer activities
for AWC members to give back to the community.
Annual Marketing Yourself and
Your Degree Workshop- For the past two years, AWC has sponsored this seminar
at a very affordable price for its members, giving attendees a chance to
have their resumes critiqued, address a panel of communications
professionals and share lunch with an array of professionals in all
communication fields.
