  • Prepare ~2 minute speech about why you should be elected.
    Be creative!
  • Take elections seriously; these officer positions do take up time!
Holding any officer position requires you to attend officer meetings and all scheduled tri-beta meetings.
President
  • **Running for this position must be an officer the previous year
  • Oversee that the other officers are doing their duties.
  • Conduct meetings: make sure that info (especially about pledging) is made clear to members
  • Work closely with the treasurer to make sure National dues, honor cords, and other funds are taken care of appropriately.
  • Meet with the organization sponsor to get updates about national chapter changes/policies
  • Put together pledge packets, email listserv about meetings and other opportunities, set-up tabling and meeting dates
  • Deal with LOTS of personal issues and emails involving those who wish to pledge, those who do not meet requirements, etc
  • Help other officers with any other duty they are having problems with
Vice President
  • Schedule great speakers for each regular meeting. ( 6 meetings per semester)
  • Coordinate the events that occur in each meeting.
  • Make fliers to inform everyone about the meetings.
  • Announce and introduce the speaker
  • Create networked connections with speakers,
  • Create research/internship opportunities for members.
Volunteer Director
  • Contact various organizations that I feel are worthy causes or enriching to the members of Tri-Beta and begin correspondence to set a volunteer event date, usually via e-mail or phone.
  • Some organizations may require additional forms from the volunteers and it is my job to get these to the club members and returned to the contact.
  • After a date and time are set for the event, I present at the meetings upcoming events, put out sign up sheets, and send an e-mail out to the club for each event.
  • Offer rides from campus for members to the events and make sure everyone signed in and has a great time volunteering!
Secretary
  • Organizing spreadsheets that allow members to check their statuses easily.
  • Collecting sign-in sheets from meetings and events, and updating the spreadsheets promptly.
  • Communicating with members at meetings and by email to answer questions about pledging and staying active.
  • Communicating with other officers to make sure the spreadsheets are correct and to inform officers of any conflicts concerning member status.
  • Compiling a list of active members at the end of each semester.
Treasurer
  • As the Treasurer you are the officer in charge of all the monetary transactions for BBB.
  • Order the pizza/food for all general meetings,
  • Organize all the fundraising events
  • Work with the Student Organization Bank and handle all of the banking for the club.
Social Director
  • This position requires you to plan and attend all social and mini-social events and the banquet at the end of the year.
Webmaster
  • Update website events, and design.
  • Create a medium in which to communicate effectively to the members of Tribeta.
  • Update Advertising pictures.
  • Update pictures on the website.
  • Create better connections with different companies to get sponsorship/advertising.
  • Make sure the ‘face’ of tribeta is represented accurately.
Historian
  • Needs to have a creative feel and can take good pictures at meetings, social events, and volunteering events.
  • Create a video montage of all events that occur in tribeta after every semester.
  • Decorates the bulletin board for informing members of our events.
