Kick a Dog Day

December 1st, 1999

Well, we advertized this event as a stress-reliever, and led people to believe we would actually be kicking puppies. In actuality, we were punting hot dogs, but it was almost as much fun as kicking puppies. Josh dressed in a sandwich-board and danced and made up songs and tried to get people do kick hot dogs, and his little show attracted quite a crowd. Watching a man dressed in a sandwich board do calisthenics while singing improvizational songs about kicking hotdogs is really something everyone should see at least once in their lifetime.

So, we got people to punt hot dogs at a guy wearing another sandwich board (this one had a target drawn on it), and offended hundreds of passers-by with our hollering about kicking dogs. That was some good fun, and Cameron made a really great target. Of course, we are never above lying, or making false promises, so it was not long before we started promising people that their efforts (which comprised only of kicking a hot dog) went towards helping to feed starving midgets in Russia, saving the whales from communist oppressors, and so on. It was pretty wacky, and pretty fun as well.

Overall, we punted over a hundred hot dogs (counting the few that lived long enough to be kicked twice), and had a crapload of fun.
