The Fraudulent Maps

August 24-25, 2000

This event was a simple one, but we enjoyed it thoroughly. During the first few days of school, we handed out maps to freshmen, so they could find their classes. These maps, however, were horribly wrong, and we had many a laugh at the expense of a freshman trying to find their classes on our maps.

Now, these maps had all the same building abbreviations that appear on a UT class schedule, but what these acronyms stood for were all changed up (i.e. FAC is now the Fascism building), and the buildings on the map were moved around a bit, and most importantly, each of the buildings was labeled with the wrong acronym, guaranteeing a horrible result if someone actually tried to use the map.

It was fun, and even a bunch of the students that went to completely the wrong building thought it was funny. After the second day, though, we kept getting people refusing to take our maps because they knew they were wrong, so we cut it out.
