AACM History
AACM at RecWeek 02
AACM has had a long tradition of making an impact at the University
of Texas at Austin for the past 25 years. Below is a brief synopis of
the history of the fellowship.
1980: The fellowship started as a group of 10-15 students
wanting a place to get together and study the bible.
1984: We officially registered as a student organzation called
Chinese Bible Study.
1996: Our fellowship grows to over 200 students.
2001: In response to the growing size of the fellowship and
desire for better stewardship, the core leadership team sought out help
from different organizations and eventually became a part of
InterVarsity.
2004: The name was changed to Asian American Campus Ministry in
order to take down barriers in connecting with the broader Asian
American community at UT.
