Outreach Team in East Austin
The heart of the AACM Outreach Team is an attitude of love and an outward focus. To explore and grow in this outlook, our team’s course of action is a communal building of relationships with others outside our usual corner of the UT campus -- whether it’s people outside our clique, our community, our class, or even our country. The team exists for students to learn and practice, in the context of a community, what it means to care for others as well as each other.
Service Oppurtunties
Meals on Wheels http://www.mowaa.org/ Every Monday from 12-1:15. Volunteers and drivers needed 4 or 5 drivers who could switch off every week and so it'd end up being like once a month or so.
Care Calls You would be responsible for calling one person each week for like 5-30 minutes, depending on how your person feels or how much they would like to talk. You would ask them how they're doing and maybe see what they might need help with. It's a great way for you to make someone's day or week
American Youthworks http://www.americanyouthworks.org/ September 28th, from 1-4pm that will be landscaping some homes that at risk Youth have helped build.
