Austin, TX - Student supporters for President Bush will hold a rally at the University of Texas this

 Monday, April 26, 2004.

The rally will take place from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on the West Mall (in front of the UT clock

tower). The West Mall is the historic location of political rallies

at the University of Texas campus. The rally is sponsored and coordinated by the Students for Bush

(SFB), a new organization at UT. At the rally, Students for Bush will register voters, pass out

literature and bumper stickers, and use a mic/sound system to convince passer-by's and listeners that

George Bush should be reelected to the White House for four more years.

"We're going to address various policies of the Bush Administration at the rally, including economic

policy, foreign policy and the War on Terrorism, heath-care, education, and the environment,”

said Brian Bodine, Executive Director of Students for Bush at Texas. “We expect there to be some

liberal opposition there as well, and things could get heated.”

“This rally will be an excellent way for students to speak out about their support of the Bush

Administration and it will provide a healthy ground for quality political discussion,” said Matt

Stolhandske, Co-Director of Students for Bush. “The President deserves to know that there are

students even in the heart of liberal Austin who appreciate his past four years of leadership and that

will do their best to ensure another four years of honest, conservative leadership in the Whitehouse."

Students for Bush plans to have student speakers from other organizations speak and is looking for

any Democrats who might be disappointed with Kerry’s record and politics.

“We have a lot to say about Senator John Kerry as well. For a man who constantly talks about

hiswar record, Kerry has a lot of explaining to do, “ said Bodine. “Senator Kerry has voted for

reducing military and defense spending on numerous occasions.

Student voters need to be aware of that.”

The Students for Bush will also co-host/co-sponsor a ‘Party for the President’ to coincide with

numerous other similar parties across the country on Thursday, April 29, 2004

“Austin, Texas is the city where President Bush lived when he served as Governor. The Austin ‘Party

for the President’ is going to be one of the most important parties in the country on that evening,”

 said Bodine.
