Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) is a registered
student organization at University of Texas at Austin. It has an
official website at www.UTCSSA.net, which contains a link to our
BBS. This policy contains information about placing an advertisement
on CSSA website or BBS.

1. About CSSA Website and BBS
CSSA website was launched in 1990s with the BBS forum added in
2002. It provides broad information to the Chinese student and scholars,
including CSSA events, Austin living guide, alumni network, etc.
By providing a communication platform for the Chinese population
in the Great Austin area, CSSA website attracts 800 unique visitors
and 3500 visits everyday in average. This number is almost the same
as the Chinese student population in UT. There are 20 BBS boards
covering different topics provide information regarding CSSA¡¯s news,
activities in Chinese communities, guide to new incoming students,
apartment rentals, flea market, Visa and immigration, and so on.
On average, the number of daily posts is about 50 now. The website
has become a window of CSSA to the Austin Chinese Community.
Based on CSSA¡¯s observation, registered users (4000 users) of BBS
includes Chinese population in UT and/or ACC, UT alumni and alumna,
future Chinese students who wants to join UT, Chinese living and/or
working in Great Austin area, and those who are interested in the
Chinese community in Austin as well as UT. In 2008, More than 700
Chinese students and scholars were studying and working at the University
of Texas at Austin. About another 200 Chinese join UT each year,
based on CSSA¡¯s experience.
CSSA website reaches out to many Chinese because it has various
functions. New Comers¡¯ Guide board provides guidance for Chinese
applicants and fresh admits to UT. For Sale & Wanted board connects
deal-seekers and sellers. Room & Roommate page helps users to
find information about apartments in Austin, roommates, and temporary
subleasing. Visa & Immigration board provide basic information
regarding visa application and immigration issues. Among other functions,
these ones may bring the most convenience to users.
The broad reach and useful functions ensure that CSSA website has
a very good reputation among our users, and it is an important communication
tool for the local Chinese community.
2. Web advertising
CSSA does not allow any entities to advertise themselves or start
a topic to promote themselves on BBS without permission. Web master
will delete any information that is against this basic rule.
CSSA offers three options to place an ad on its website or BBS.
Option 1: Banner on Front Page of CSSA Website & Recommendation
Post of Sponsor on a certain board of BBS ----$199/year
The banner is a linking figure that will be placed on the front
page of the CSSA website, left beside the Latest UTCSSA BBS Topics
list. The figure is 100 pixel * 75 pixel, and provides an outgoing
link to the sponsor¡¯s website or the commercial post in a certain
board of BBS if applicable. A same figure and linking will be put
on our website in the Partner section. CSSA does not design the
figure content. CSSA reserve the right to request the sponsor to
revise the content of the figure or to terminate the sponsorship
due to inappropriate figure content.
Recommendation Post of Sponsor is a post that will be kept on top
of other posts in a relevant board. It will only appear on one board,
if there are multiple relevant boards. The post contains any information,
not conflict with Federal Law, State Law or CSSA BBS rule, which
you may want to inform users about. The length of the post may not
exceed 1500 bytes (counted in MS Office Word without space). The
title of this topic will be ¡°Recommended (business industry) (business
name)¡±. CSSA does not write the content. CSSA reserve the right
to request the sponsor to revise the content of Recommendation Post
of Sponsor or to terminate the sponsorship due to inappropriate
content.
The $199 payment is due prior to the first day when the ad was
placed. CSSA does not prorate the price to each month. You may renew
the length of placing your ad on website by the end of each term.
Option 2: Top Banner on CSSA BBS & Recommendation Post
of Sponsor on a certain board of BBS----$199/year
The top banner is a linking figure that will be placed on top of
the BBS. The figure is 120 pixel * 90 pixel, and provides an outgoing
link to the sponsor¡¯s website or the commercial post in a certain
board of BBS if applicable. A same figure and linking will be put
on our website in the Partners section. CSSA does not design the
figure content. CSSA reserve the right to request the sponsor to
revise the content of the figure or to terminate the sponsorship
due to inappropriate figure content.

length of placing your ad on website and BBS by the end of each
term.
This policy becomes effective from September 1st, 2008.
CSSA is willing to collaborate with any entities to bring benefits
