The 1 Week UIL Policy Debate Intensive
Our week long sessions are designed to provide students with the arguments and skills necessary to excel on the University Interscholastic League debate circuit. Upon arrival students will be handed a full set of affirmative and negative briefs so they can immediately begin developing in round debate skills. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in critiqued practice debates and will also attend a series of lectures given by debaters who know what it takes to win on the UIL and national circuit. Debaters can expect to hit the ground running on this year’s topic without having to spend hours in a library or in front of a computer. Our camp is designed to emphasize argument, analysis, communication and adaptation. If you are looking for a camp that will give you a leg up on the UIL debate circuit the UTNIF is for you. Lead instructor for the UIL Policy Debate Intensive, Kenny Cauthen, was the winner of the 2005 UIL State Debate Tournament and has helped coach many teams to elimination rounds of that tournament. |
