Deutsches Haus News - September 2002

Unfortunately, we had to learn that Dharam isn't coming back
and that Lizzie has to leave us. Bye guys,
come visit us soon and often.

August: New people are pouring in and w'all test our patience
in the food line. But our waiting is rewarded with
plenty of international company.

The kitchen drama finally came to an end. After one month (!)
without gas, we passed the fire safety inspection
and got our gas turned back on.
Our renovation craze was contagious: Our neighbors in the Chabad
House replaced their kitchen floor, too, and remodeled the yard
between our two houses - discovering a huge cistern.

The same procedure as every year: After the hostellers have moved
out, the room-redistribution circle begins. Some us use
this occasion to renovate their new room.
If one's room is already pretty, one could at least renovate the
garden. This picture shows the future xeriscape section but we
also have an herb/spices/awareness-enhancer section.

After all, last years' investment in the garden is paying back.

Our Renovation-Special is no longer available online due to the server space required. However, we are happy to send you a zipped version of it upon request (730 KB)

We strive to present images of current events on this page - ideally every month. If you would like to see a picture from a certain corner of the house, please share your idea with the Webmaster. If you are interested in previous news releases check out our archive.
