MARCH 2006

March. What was March about? It was about sands, beaches, and beer. Spring break happened in this historical period of our house, and a series of members decided to spend even their vacations together! That's what we call love, and these pictures are our witness.

Beauty guarded the fort. Here she is, careful observing any passerby to eliminate any possibility of invasion attempts. While not a lot of other people stayed in the Haus during Spring Break, the supermarket crew made sure to leave a hearty supply of kitty snacks and beer in the icebox for her. As long as we keep her fed, she keeps us under her feline protection.

The Superhero Alex Twins, KAPOW!-ing their way down a sand hill in White Sands National Park http://www.nps.gov/whsa/ in New Mexico. Notice Alex Zav's Boing-Boing Arab move, a show of both accumulated happiness and super-space powers. Alex Deutschland, with his Bevo Cap, forgot his snowboard, but really doesn't need one as we can see from his cool move!

More jumpity fun! I hope they remembered that the pool at the end of the hill is empty. Actually, they were making a TV-ad for an undisclosed deodorant brand. Work hard, play hard.

Here is Alex Zav, drinking the last Pepsi in the desert!

One last picture showing the entire crowd of desert explorers: Jakub (our dear house manager,) Nejma, a guy with a black shirt, Alex Deutschland, Alex Zav, Clemens and Catherine. We're all jealous of their Spring Break fun!

Now let's switch from one sand-filled environment to another. Andreas, Jo, Eileen and Thomas went on a road trip all the way to the Gulf Coast of Florida!

Here's Jo during the trip, on a shot worthy of any Tarantino film. Easter bunnies are scarce these days, and Jo took the task to become one, at least for a day.

Oh yea Thomas! You show those street-dwellers your shiny new bike!

In addition to traveling during the month of March, the German Housers also partied and hung out and stuff like that. Shimon, Catherine, and Clemens regretting that he ever took a bite into that cookie.

A long time German House custom, we drink from medieval beer mugs. We only have a limited amount, and in this particular night, German House visiting-veteran Markus and Alvaro had the privilege. Sarah, (from Houston by the way) and Riitta (from Finland by the way) flank these two individuals during a moment of beer drinking.

Esther, take your hands off Alvaro! My goodness gracious.

Last but not least, French Thomas, the Gaullist offspring from the other side of the Atlantic, left our house. He accompanied us for many many weeks. But now he's gone. And we miss his cute French accent. We do.
