Texas where you can learn how to fly. Here is how to get started:

Am I eligible?
The basic eligibility requirements for a private pilot certificate are:

At least 17 years of age

Able to read, speak and understand English

Able to pass a FAA 3rd class physical
- Able to accumulate the necessary flight training and experience and
pass oral, written, and practical exams
What supplies do I need?
The following equipment is typically purchased after a student's first
few lessons:
- Headset
- Logbook
- Books (can be purchased through flight instructors or online)
- Aeronautical charts
Ask your flight instructor for a more comprehensive list of necessary
equipment.
How much does learning how to fly cost?
The actual cost varies from student to student, but typically falls
around these values:
- 60 hours of flight time (average) at $74/hr (C152) - $4440
- 40 hours of flight instruction - $1200
- FAA Class III medical exam - $75
- Books and flight gear - $200
- Written and Practical exams - $300
- UFC membership (2 semesters) - $80
- Total - $6295 (Based on average completion times)
