About GBSA

Formed at the beginning of 2008, GBSA contiues to grow in membership and sponsorship. GBSA was formed as a way for professionally oriented GLBTQ students and allies to gain a better and more interactive understanding of modern working environments. We have experienced immensely posetive feedback from the UT and business communities, and are striving to not only build our membership but also our cooalitions within the corporate world.
Activities:
Hosting professional workshops
Holding general organizational meetings to update potential and current members on upcoming events
Coordinating with businesses non-profits such as HRC for our Fall Open House
Sponsoring/coordinating a week-long series of events in February (“Unique Week”), which will include case-oriented workshops, mock interviews, diversity training sessions, and a corporate dinner
Planning an alumni dinner for March or April where current GLBTQ students can network with and ask questions of GLBTQ professionalsCorporate Partnerships:
The funds we receive from other student organizations and corporations will go towards:
Publicity for our specific events as well as our general meetings (signs, posters, quarter sheets)
A general organization banner to be displayed outside of the McCombs School of Business
Paying for the catering and space reservations required for the corporate dinner in April as well as the alumni dinner
Purchasing materials needed for our workshops and meetings (copies of agendas, printing of the workshop resource packets, etc.)
Purchasing and maintaining Web space for the organization.
