Report of Meeting
2003 September 8

GSA Attendees included Melanie Ulrick and Don Drumtra. Other student representatives included one members from Student Government and one member from Senate of College Councils. This was an organization meeting. We elected Matthew Bailey, Associate Professor, Spanish and Portuguese, Committee Chair for 2003-2004. Dr. Kavorkian read the Committee Charter," To be so well informed concerning the functions of the Library that it can assist in developing operational procedures; to assist in development of both personnel and fiscal policies and procedures; to advise the Faculty Council and the president concerning the direction and growth of the Library; to advise the president in the event it becomes necessary to appoint a new librarian." That prompted some discussion about lack of consultation with the Committee during the budget reduction last spring. The library staff had reviewed the schedules of the members and determined that there was no time during the week when all members would be available to meet. Thus members agreed to consider alternating times. Members will be requested to submit another schedule to assist in that consideration. The first regular meeting is scheduled for 8-9 AM Tuesday, September 30 in PCL 3. 200 (Library Conference Room). For more information on the Library Committee see the Committee Website.
