UT AUSTIN INFORMATION

The University of Texas at Austin provides a wide range of information
to the campus community. Outlined below is a description of selected
information and where it is located on the Internet. Paper copies
of this information, including accreditation, are available upon
request. Catalogs are available for purchase, but are accessible
at no cost on the Internet. Information about the University is
also available during regular working hours from The Office of the

1. "What You Need to Know - Campus Security and Crime Awareness"
- this document discusses the reporting of criminal activity and
other emergencies; campus crime statistics; crime prevention; campus
sexual assault programs and procedures to follow when a sex offense
occurs, sanctions imposed for offenses and other very important
information. Printed copies are available from the Vice President

2. The University's policies concerning privacy and release of
education records explains the rights of students with respect to
education records maintained by the University and outlines the
University's procedures for complying with the requirements of the
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. The policy is published
in the General Information Catalog. Copies of the Act, the Federal
Regulations adopted pursuant to it, and this notice are available
for persons to examine in the Office of the Vice President for Student

3. Information regarding current university tuition and required
fees, estimated cost of books and supplies, estimated transportation

7. The University provides information regarding the types of financial
assistance available to students, the application process and forms,
eligibility requirements, criteria for making awards and the amount
of awards, satisfactory academic progress, the methods and frequency
of disbursements, repayment requirements of loans and loan deferment,
student employment, a wide range of financial aid services and counseling,
frequently asked questions and other help through the Office of

9. Enrollment in a program of study abroad approved for credit
