Welcome to the home page of Helping Austin's Homeless Animals (HAHA). This site is designed to help you, the college student, in your search for the ideal pet. It should also give you some ideas if you are interested in volunteering at an animal shelter or rescue. Please take some time to look through the information in this website and familiarize yourself with the current pet overpopulation situation in Austin today.
About HAHA
HAHA was created by Wanda Webb as a Plan II thesis project at the University of Texas at Austin. A volunteer at Town Lake Animal Center, Lucky Mutts Rescue, and an active member of the Austin rescue community, Wanda was appalled by the seeming lack of student awareness when it came to adopting animals.
The mission of this club and this website is to educate students about pet overpopulation, to make students aware of the financial and time commitment of owning an animal, and to dispel myths about "pre-owned" animals.
