About our activities:
Our regular members are UT students and faculty, but we keep close contact with the growing Hungarian community of Austin and vicinity.
Although there are no regular meetings of HUSA, we get together quite frequently to socialize. Most of the events are parties at some of our's place, movie nights, laserdisc parties at Tamás's place, slide-shows, one-day long or sometimes longer trips. We also organize visits of concerts, film festivals and other events such as a women basketball game of the Hungarian Zala Volán against the Lady Horns in November, 1996. Every year we have a trip in early November to Lost Maples, and in May to Canyon Lake or Inks Lake State Park for swimming and hiking. Also we usually celebrate together major holidays like St.Stephen's Day, Christmas and Easter.
Other recent events included a weekend at Padre Island National Seashore, a chicken paprikash dinner at Paul's place (it was excellent, thanks to the cook, Alinka and her assistant Paul), a trip to Guadalaupe River State Park, a huge b'day party at Zsolt's house, and a spring and autumn BBQ party (szalonnasütés) at Pace Bend Park.
