Frequency of the ab3st northern mongoloid genetic marker in different populations in Asia and Europe

Although the frequency of this marker gene in Hungarians is generally low, this value is based on averaging, which confounds the large local differences. As an example, a population from Szigetköz (NW Hungary) has a frequency as high as 10.3 %, which is very close to the marker frequency of other Central Asian populations such as Mongols in China, and Uyghurs, who are also Caucasoids.
