Ramadan dinners are special occasions in which people from various faiths come together and share bread on the same table. One of these special dinners was held in the Main Building of St. Edward's University. The foods were wonderful as usual, thanks to talented Turkish American Women Association's.
Following the dinner our faculty advisor made a presentation about Ramadan and its importance in the Muslim world. He also talked about common misconceptions that are way far from creating a positive attitude towards Islam. These misconceptions ranged from woman's place in Islam to terrorism which completely contradicts the mission of this religion. He said in conclusion “If one wants to learn about Islam, he/she has to consult the two main sources of this religion: Qur'an and the prophetic traditions and sayings that are still the same as they were 14 hundred years ago.”
