President |
Nadia Khan |
My name is Nadia Khan and I am the President for the Texas Running Club for the 2011-2012 school year. I am a senior majoring in Human Biology and hope to apply to an MD/PhD program upon graduating in May. Previous to my position as President, I served as the Events Coordinator for the TRC for two years. I have been apart of this club since the first day of my freshman year and have loved every single moment of it! With the help of the TRC, I have been able to complete 3 marathons, 6 half-marathons, and numerous 10Ks and 5Ks during my college career. In addition, along the way I have been able to form friendships with friends I will never forget. My goals for this year include breaking my half-marathon PR, making a sweet score on the MCAT, and of course trying to make this club the best it can be. Please do not hesitate to e-mail me or any of the other officers with any questions at all. Whether it be an administrative club question or advice on marathon running, we are always here to help you better your experience in this club; both as a runner and as a student! Here's to happy running! |

Vice president |
Rachel Whaley |
I'm Rachel and I am your vice-president :) I am graduating this Spring and will hopefully be going to Physical Therapy school next year. I did cross-country in middle school and high school, but I did not realize how much I loved it until I quit my senior year for golf of all sports. Anyway, I'm back running. I love marathons so that's what I spend training for most. I plan to do Boston this year. I am so excited!! I look forward to coaching you guys and helping you achieve your goals this year. |

Treasurer |
Matt Ray |
I’m a mechanical engineering senior, and I’ve been running with the club since my freshman year. I started running in high school cross country but switched my focus to marathons and triathlons after entering college. I’ve run many marathons including Dallas White Rock Marathon, Austin Marathon, Disney Marathon, and the Boston Marathon with a time of 2:56:51. I also partake in other club running events my favorite of which is the Texas Independence Relay, a 200+ mile relay from Gonzalez to Houston. To mix up my training I also focus on some triathlons mostly consisting of sprint and Olympic distances. This October I will be racing my first half distance triathlon at Longhorn Ironman 70.3. |

Secretary |
Jonathan Tam |
My name is Jonathan Tam and I am the secretary for the Texas Running Club. My primary responsibilities as secretary are recruitment and maintaining this website. I am a senior majoring in Nutritional Sciences/Pre-Pharmacy and planning to attend pharmacy school after I graduate. I've been running ever since I was in high school but now I like to run just for leisure. I have ran 1 marathon and 3 half-marathons and hoping to add 1 more marathon this year. I also like to compete in mud races like the Warrior Dash. In my spare time, I like to eat, listen to indie music, and of course, watch Longhorn football. |

Fundraising/Volunteering Chair |
Anjelica Barrientos |
Hi I’m Anjelica Barrientos! As your Volunteer/Fundraising Chair it’s my job to seek opportunities for us to get involved in the Austin community and to raise money via organizing fundraising events and receiving sponsorships/donations. I’m an undeclared second year likely to go into something science related. Some of the major races I’ve participated in include the SA Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon, Cap 10K, Beach to Bay Marathon Relay, and the Texas Independence Relay. Besides running, I enjoy Syfy movies, hipster/indie music, triathlons, and people’s faces when I say I live in Jester. |

Social Events Coordinator |
Christine Menegaz |
Hey runners! My name is Christine Menegaz and I'm a senior at UT majoring in psychology. As social chair I'm in charge of organizing some get-togethers and fun outings for you guys, like a BBQ at Barton Springs and pasta parties before big races. I'm always looking for fun ideas for the club, so if you have any suggestions you can always email me. I'm currently training for my first marathon in Houston in January 2011. I've got a lot of running to do before that, so I'm looking forward to running with the club this year and having fun! |
