AMY SUWARNARATANA

Motorola Austin Marathon 2000

Dear Runners,

I must say my first marathon experience was so incredible that everything seems like a blur to me. Well, may be I just waited too long before I started to write about my experience sorry, Tim :) What I realized was that finishing my first marathon gave me a great sense of accomplishment. It is such a profound feeling that I cannot explain it into words. I could barely remember all the pain and agony that I experienced during the last 5.2 miles of the marathon. However, every time I think back about the marathon, it always brings back good memories. It reminds me of how good it felt like taking a warm shower after the long run on Saturday morning and having a big meal right afterwards. It reminds me of the good conversations and the good times I have had with my fellow runners, and how many good friends I have made from sharing our common goal--training for the marathon. Yes, I just said TRAINNING for the marathon. The process of training is actually a one heck of an experience that fuses into my soul to me, without the experience of training, I would never be able to fully savor my experience of crossing the finishing line for my first marathon. I would like to thank all my teammates for training with me and for always cheering during the races. Thanks for your courage to challenge yourselves to train for the marathon to be a part of our team.

Looking forward to training with you for our future marathons,
Amy.
