History
Mu Epsilon Theta is a Catholic based sorority founded by Maria Alcocer, Evelyn Greenfield and Patricia Perez. The University of Texas at Austin recognized Mu Epsilon Theta as an official student organization on January 16, 1987.

Mu Epsilon Theta was formed on Catholic principles to unite college women by promoting academics, leadership and community service as well as moral and spiritual well-being.

Sisterhood
Sisterhood is developed and maintained through various activities throughout the semester. Activities include social events, retreats, service projects and much more. It is through our sisterhood that we can grow in our faith and our community.

Service
Each academic year, Mu Epsilon Theta chooses a non-profit organization to support. We support our philanthropy through volunteer projects and fundraisers. We also find small volunteer opportunities with other organizations throughout the semester.

Spirituality
Mu Epsilon Theta is focused around spirituality. Our chaplain provides a spiritual activity for us each week. We also lead a weekly rosary for the UCC and attend adoration as a group once a month. In addition, we hold a spiritual retreat once a semester. This serves as an opportunity for actives and pledges to take a break from school and spend some time getting to know each other while learning about their faith. Additional spiritual events include attending lectures given by guest speakers to promote spiritual well-being.
