Q.What is a pledge?
A. A pledge is a prospective member of a sorority/fraternity.

Q.What rescources are available to pledges on this site?
A.Several portions of the Mu Epsilon Theta web site are devoted to its prospective members including this FAQ, a page to contact the pledge educator, and the current pledge class webpage.

Q. What is Mu Epsilon Theta?
A. Mu Epsilon Theta is a non-Greek sorority built on Catholic principles. As a group, we work together to promote spirituality, service, and sisterhood through various projects and activities each semester.

Q. Who may join?
A. A prospective member must:

  1. Be a female currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin.
  2. Not be an active member of any Panhellenic UT Greek Society. (This does not include honorary, service, or professional organizations.)
  3. Be able to meet the financial obligations of the chapter (not to exceed $300).
  4. Actively participate fully in the pledge programs.
  5. Attend meetings and functions.
  6. Be active the semester following the pledge period.

Q. How do I join?
A. Attend one of the informational meetings. Please contact the Mia Migliaccio or Dona Suing for more information.

Q.What is the time commitment expected from me?
A. You will be expected to attend one pledge meeting per week and attend at least two hours of study time with your sisters per week. Also, there are various projects and events you are expected to plan and attend throughout the semester. All of the events are planned such that they do not interfere with the normal school schedule.

Q. How much are dues?
A. Your financial commitment to the sorority will not exceed $300 dollars. You may work out a payment plan with our treasurer or there are reduced rates for those unable to make such a monetary contribution.

Q. Are there any other required expenses?
A. Various social events may require those attending to make a small contribution (i.e. movies, dinner, materials...). Prospective members may also be expected to pay for pledge specific items.
