  • “You’re Somebody’s Type” – Blood Drive Hosted by Texas MSA & IMSA

    Texas Muslim Students’ Association and the Ismaili Muslim Students’ Association are joining forces and hosting a blood drive from 11 am – 3 pm next Wednesday! Please help us publicize this event by changing your profile pictures to the event flyer and inviting all of your friends at UT! We will also need volunteers to help us out on the day of the drive. More information coming soon! So come on out, donate blood, and show your support for both of these organizations, that are working hand in hand under the banner of Islam!

  • Deen Intensive 2012 – “The Most Important People in Your Life”

    Tickets will include admission into all of the Deen Intensive sessions, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday), refreshments throughout the entire weekend, and a free wristband!

    Event Description:

     

    Texas MSA would like to invite you to a weekend of rejuvenation and spiritual enlightenment led by renowned speakers, Sheikh Abdul Nasir Jangda from Bayyinah, Wisam Sharief from Irvine, California, and several other speakers from across Texas.

     

    Join us for this weekend-long lecture series as we attempt to better understand the complexities of love, marriage, and relationships in an Islamic context.

     

    The weekend will consist of five, 2 hour sessions including Q&A, all relating to different kinds of relationships, including the relationship we have with our parents, the opposite gender, non-Muslims, and most importantly with Allah swt. We will also be holding a special session on “Ways to Love the Prophet.”

     

    The official program will begin on Saturday at noon, giving all of our out-of-town guests ample time to drive in to Austin. Texas MSA will be reserving hotel rooms at a discount rate and providing free accommodations for students. More information will be available soon!

     

  • 10th Annual Fast-A-Thon

    Texas MSA would like to cordially invite you to participate in our 10th Annual Fast-A-Thon in order to raise money for East African Famine Relief, through UNICEF!

    All you have to do is pledge to go hungry on Wednesday, November 2nd and our local sponsors will donate $3 on your behalf to charity! All of our participants are invited to come break their fast at our FREE DINNER that same day at 7 PM in the SAC Ballroom!

  • Welcome Dinner 2011

    Welcome Dinner has been a Longhorn Muslim tradition for as long as anyone can recall. It has been, and will always be, the inception of all great things to come. The friends you make that night will guide you through your four years (… or five or six) on the 40 Acres. This night  will indirectly be the foundation for your journey through college. It will take place on September 9th, 2011 at 7:00 PM inside the Student Activity Center (SAC) Ballroom. We’ll introduce you to the new Executive Committee, open up membership ($20/person), give out the awesome new official MSA t-shirts, and give a rundown of the educational and social events we have planned for the upcoming semester. We will serving free food catered from Halal Guys. So come out and greet the new academic year by indulging in the awesomeness that is Texas MSA!
