In the
spring of 2003, Nritya Sangam Indian Dance Troupe was recognized by
the University of Texas South Asian Leaders organization as the
“Best Charity Organization.”
In April
2003, the troupe performed at the annual campus-wide talent show, Texas
Revue, and was awarded “Best Artistic Performance."
Nritya
Sangam
was featured in the 2003 UT Informational brochure as a hallmark of the
university’s diversity, a brochure which is sent to college-bound high
school students throughout the state of Texas.
November
14, 2003 and November 19, 2005 were both proclaimed
“Nritya Sangam Day” by the Mayor of Austin, Will Wynn,
recognizing the philanthropic agenda of the troupe.
Nritya
Sangam’s
picture appeared on the Winter 2004 edition of the Newsletter of the
Parents’ Association, a newsletter that is sent to all UT parents.
Winner of
the “Asian American Excellence Award” for
being the most outstanding cultural organization in the Spring of 2005.
In April
2006, the troupe performed at the annual campus-wide talent show, Texas
Revue, and was awarded “Best Technical Performance."
