UT Fashion Heritage Project
The goal of the 2006-2007 Tappee class project is to raise an endowment for the University of Texas Textiles and Apparel Department's Historical Collection. The funds generated from the endowment will go to support the collection's greatest needs, possibly including, but not limited to, garment preservation, awareness programs, and permanent display space.
We will raise money and awareness for the endowment by soliciting corporate and individual donations, displaying a selection of the garments in an exhibition on campus in the fall, hosting an opening night reception for the exhibit, and having a display booth announcing the fall exhibition at the TXA Department Senior Fashion Show on April 19th.
We are excited to have already raised our first few thousand dollars, and we hope that by fulfilling this goal we can encourage an interest in the fine arts, raise awareness for the Textiles and Apparel program, and show support for our university's educational resources.
We invite you to our display booth at the Textiles & Apparel Department Senior Fashion Show on April 20 at 6 p.m. in the Frank Erwin Center.
