National Service Week
Each year, Omega Phi Alpha hosts a National Service Week (NSW) during the first week of November to benefit a charity. In the past, our service weeks have focused on women’s issues, such as cervical cancer, domestic violence, and ovarian cancer. We then shifted our focus by pursuing issues such as child literacy and financial literacy.
This year, which will be our sixth annual NSW, we are focusing on --TBD--.
Throughout the week starting Tuesday, November 1, 2011, OPA will devote the entire week towards activities to raise awareness and support for our cause. Our events include:
-- a kick-off rally held at Gregory Plaza where we will use posters and games to educate the UT community about our cause
-- a restaurant fundraiser at --TBD-- to raise money which will be donated to the organization --TBD--
-- a service project held at the Business School ---
-- a game night where various UT student organizations will participate and compete in the game --TBD-- to support our cause
All the proceeds from the week’s events and donations will be given to
--. |
