UTMB Updates:
The Fall semester is here, so I know you are busying getting ready for classes to start back up. I am sending news from our UTMB program here in Galveston for you to share with your PT Organization members. We have scheduled our fall open houses. These open houses are sponsored by the Department of Physical Therapy, which is different than the past couple years, and will be held once a month between September to November. The dates are as follows:
September 15th, 3:00pm to 4:30pm
October 13th, 3:00pm to 4:30pm
November 17th, 3:00pm to 4:30pm
We are currently accepting applications for the Fall of 2007. Our priority consideration date for receiving applications is November 1, 2006. Two of the fall dates are before the priority consideration date. If anyone is interested in attending these open houses, please RSVP by calling 409-772-3068. We look forward to meeting everyone!
Other brief news: UTMB has received permission from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to start planning a program that awards the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. If the plan receives final approval by the University of Texas Board of Regents and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, we hope to begin offering the DPT degree to students entering the program in the fall of 2008!
