About SPHS
The University of Texas Society of Public Health Students is the first and only student group at the university designed for those interested in a career in public health. As an interdisciplinary field, public health combines biology, chemistry, medicine, and sociology to approach healthcare on a population level. Core areas of public health include epidemiology, environmental health, biostatistics, healthcare administration and health education.
As a resource for students, we provide important information about applying to graduate school, research opportunities around the UT campus, and overall, we strive to promote the field of public health. In doing so, we hope to infuse the conscience of the university with important public health issues to improve the condition of people everywhere, starting with our surrounding community.
