We had a challenging first-day with the weather. Saturdays sailing started at 15 knot westerly, but quickly built and veered to 20-25 knot northerly, with puffs to 38 knots. We ventured out three times in an effort to get in some races, completing only 8. Sunday was moderate; 12-16 knot easterly, with 16 races. 24 races were completed over the two days. Temperatures ranged from low 50's to mid 60's F with partly sunny skies both days.

and warm skies high
of 75. Very shifty conditions but great racing. We will enter a 4 race
consolation round and attempt a double round robin final 6 tomorrow.
Sunday- Another gorgeous day in California! Complete final 6-team round with
3-team consolation round completed today (Army was a no-show on Sunday). Wind
was very shifty and light until the last 2 flights, E-NW 0-12. Great clean
racing.

REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday conditions were out of the S-SW all day 5-10 in the morning and 10-15
in the afternoon. All courses were trapezoids with separate start/ finish lines.
Six races were sailed in the morning and six more in the afternoon. A and B
Division switched boats from V-15's to FJ's after race 10. C-Division sailed
lasers.
There were five DSQ's, four breakdowns and two redress awarded.
There was no wind on Sunday, racing was called at 1:00pm

HARVARD UNIVERSITY WINS 2002
ICSA NORTH AMERICAN TEAM RACE CHAMPIONSHIP
HONOLULU, HAWAII (June 4, 2002) - Harvard University won the 2002
Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association North American Team Race Championship
with a perfect record of 17 wins and no losses. Tufts University placed second
at 13-4, followed closely by Georgetown, who had 12 wins - 5 losses. College
of Charleston rounded out the top four with a cumulative 8-9 record.
The three-day event was sailed in the eighty-degree air and water temperatures
of the Keehi Lagoon on the south shore of Oahu. ICSA President Mitch Brindley
(Smithfield, Va.) said, "New England proved their excellence in team racing
this year. The event was full of excellent competition. Congratulations to
Harvard for the hard work of sailing a flawless regatta."
