On November 9th, 2005 SIA held a lecture event titled "Islam: Blind Faith or Rational Following." Sheikh Safdar Razi, the spiritual guide at the Islamic Ahlul Bayt Association here in Austin, Texas, gave a presentation on the importance reason, rational thought, and science in the religion of Islam. The talk was followed up by a question-and-answer discussion with an audience of around 35 people. The event was concluded with refreshments and snacks.
