Service is one of the four pillars of our organization. Texas Spirits accounts for over 2,000 hours of service each semester! Spirits complete their service hours both inside and outside the organization by volunteering in a variety of events and projects each semester, often collaborating with other student organizations to work for great causes.

Also, every semester, the new weenies organize a pledge class service project. The weenies vote a pledge class service officer to plan the project, and all the girls do their part to execute the project. Past weenie service projects include:
-Make A Difference Mondays: Spirits demonstarted their compassion to the UT community from passing out popsicles to students on a hot class day, to handing out treat bags of encouragement, Spring & Fall '09
-Helping to build a house with the nonprofit Habitat for Humanity, Fall ’08
-Hosting a fajita benefit night for charity: water with Tejas, raising $1,900, Spring ‘08
-Participating in arts and crafts with kids at Breakfast with Santa, Fall ‘07
-Volunteering with kids at the low-income after-school program Heart House, Fall ‘06
Texas Spirits presents Band Jam!
Our largest annual event is Band Jam, a huge charity concert benefiting the Make-A-Wish foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to granting the wishes of hospitalized and terminally ill children. Band Jam started in 1995 and has been getting bigger and better every year. In 2007, we were able to raise a generous $20,000, enabling us to grant five wishes. Join our Texas Spirits Band Jam FUNdraising Facebook Group

Thank you to everyone who made it out to support Texas Spirits Band Jam 2009 supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We raised over $20,000 and will be able to grant 4 wishes!
