There's a reason "Spirit" is in our name....

Everyone knows Texas Spirits have a ton of school pride! We were awarded the Swing Out Award for Best Spirit Group two years in a row, based overall school spirit and a continuing dedication to the UT community.

We demonstrate our spirit by attending UT athletic events together in uniform, setting up the flashcard section before football games with Tejas, and attending numerous other UT events such as the OU Torchlight parade or A&M Hex Rally. No matter what the event, Spirits are loud and proud.

One of our favorite traditions is Drag Paint. Every Sunday, Texas Spirits storm the drag to paint the windows of local businesses and announce a variety of upcoming UT events. You can see Texas Spirits with their buckets and paint out on the drag. Thanks to support from the businesses, we paint several windows every week! Our weenies are required to attend every drag paint and actives join in as well! We try to mix it up by having special painting days such as ghoulfriend drag paint or midnight drag wars. We also have weekly contests, and determine a paint princess who demonstrated outstanding effort and dedication that week.
