Education

I'm from Cypress, a nostalgia-inspiring suburb of Houston. Most of my high school freedom was spent with various facets of computer science. Right now, I'm considering a career in experimental psychology (biopsychology or cognitive psychology, specifically), and/or web development.

Hobbies

I could spend ages finding fun things to do on the internet. I like the process of creating a website, from the idea of content, to the information hierarchy, to the layout, to the coding, to the graphic design, and sadly even to the maintenance. I enjoy electronic music and great films (mostly drama) with thick plots that it takes me at least two viewings to really understand. One of my favorite feelings is learning something new, or really reconsidering something I've already known.

Aspriations

I'm still indecisive about where I'd like my undergraduate experience to take me. I'd like to study memory, such as learning or attention span, sleep, drug response, or possibly human sexuality. I might also study cognitive psychology to become a web/software usability analyst. Bioethics is another option. In whatever I end up studying, I hope to do something with long-lasting effects, even if they're not recognized in my lifetime.

Website

In addition to running the website for SURGe, I spend some time running my own website. Trey Philips's homepage is treyp.com.

SURGe has plenty of great members. Check out other interesting people at the committees home page.
