How to Join SURGe
If you’d like to join SURGe, all you need to do is:
- Join the SURGe email list. See the note below for information on how to do this.
- Attend meetings and events.
- We urge you to get involved as much as you can by helping out with meetings and events. One easy option is to join a SURGe committee.

The SURGe Email List
An important way to keep up to date with SURGe events and meetings and general announcements about research opportunities, is to join the mailing list. To do this, please send an email to . In the body of the email type:
subscribe surge yourname
Of course, replace yourname with your name (e.g. subscribe surge joe schmoe).
If you would like to see a list of all the mailing lists on List Proc, send an email to and in the body of the message type:
lists
To unsubscribe: Send an e-mail to with the following command in the body text:
unsubscribe surge
Note: It is a common mistake to put your personal name at the end of this command. Use ONLY the list name. Also, be sure to send your request from the same e-mail address that you used to subscribe to the list, since the process is automated.
