Events/Tasks

N ew Students Welcome -- Apartment, school (student ID, department), shopping (where to buy, where to eat), government related issues (SSN, driver license, Texas ID), and so on.
T hai Nights (Fall and Spring) and Summer Picnic -- These events are normally held on the second weekend of each semester.
T ri-city Sport Game -- This event will be held sometimes during the fall semester. The sports include soccer, basketball and chairball. Normally, we prepare for the games about 2 months before the event.
S ports for Fun -- Many TAA members play sports together during a semester. The sports include golf, soccer, basketball, badminton, workout, pool, and so on. If you wish to join any sport, please contact the individual person you wish.
U niversity Events -- UT has some events we can join to make TAA and our country be acknowledged by other UT students, professors, and staff. The committee will tell everyone about any UT event, so we all can join and have a good time together.
S ocial Events -- Our TAA normally joins some events held by other organizations. Thai Association of Central Texas (TACT) has some fun events including Thai Cultural Day and TACT Thai Night. Thai Temple also has interesting events including Thai new year (Song-Karn), Loy-Kra-Tong, and so on.

T AA Meetings -- We normally hold our meetings AT LEAST 3 weeks prior to any important events we may have. From time to time, we have also informal meetings to brainstorm and clarify some relevant issues for our events. Needless to say, we have “parties” (very informal meetings) among TAA members just to have fun, chat, and play games.

T rip -- Some of us hardly have a trip to other places due to difficulties in traveling alone and expenses. It is a good idea to travel with friends not only to have fun together but also to share some traveling expenses.
