Now Accepting Submissions for
Spring 2008
Deadline: Friday 21 March 2008
Topics and General Style of Submissions
TNR publishes peer-reviewed articles of original research or reviews of all topics related to neuroscience. Articles should be written towards an audience of university student and faculty neuroscientists and should include relevant citations, figures, and supplemental materials as needed.
Additionally, editorials, brief communications and letters to the editor will be considered for publication. Please email the editorial staff at neuron@uts.cc.utexas.edu for more information about how you can contribute in these sections.
All submissions should be original works that have not been submitted for publication elsewhere.
New Negative Empirical Results Section:
The quality of research published under this new section will be held to the same high standards as that of studies showing expected and traditionally significant empirical results, and all submissions will be peer-reviewed as such.
This new section gives students the opportunity to publish results from experiments that are provocative, controversial, failed, or unexpected in the context of current scientific opinion or original hypotheses. We believe this new section will serve the student community by providing access to educationally valuable results produced by peers that would otherwise go unpublished, and ultimately, inform students as to how to better carry out their procedures in performing similar experiments.
All negative results submissions considered for publication must first be verified in the form of a signed letter for publication by the principle investigator under whom the experiment was performed to ensure that no conflict of interest exists.
General requirements for submission:
1. The author may be a student of neuroscience at any level.
2. The submission may be a review of primary material or your own primary research. This may include, but is not limited to:
a. Primary research or a review resulting from an internship or rotation.
b. Primary research or a review resulting from a class, seminar, or other scientific program.
c. Primary research or a review resulting from a scientific proposal.
d. A review undertaken due to your own curiosity or a lack of information in a particular field.
3. Submissions must include a cover letter with a brief explanation of the nature and originality of the work and a title page including the title of the work, author(s) and author(s’) affiliation.
4. Articles must be submitted via email on or before
