Texas Crew offers many things to its athletes: camaradarie and friendships, intense physical training, and nation-wide travle, to name a few.
None, however, are as great as the opportunity to represent the University of Texas at Austin in national and regional regattas, or
the competitive drive and immutable spirit so essential to a successful athlete.
Having prior rowing experience, while obviosuly advantageous,
is not a requirement by any measure. In fact, nearly half of the rowers representing the United States in 2008 at Beijing had not rowed before college.
