Nate Fox
Position: Varsity Men's Coach & Head Coach
Alma
Mater: University of Pennsylvania
An alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, Coach Nate Fox was a collegiate rower for four years from 2003-2007 and served as the team's captain for the 2006-2007 season. Having begun his rowing career in high school, he hoped to give back to the sport that had given him so many opportunities for nearly a decade. In 2007, he began assisting with both Varsity squads at his Alma mater, Walt Whitman High School. After moving to Austin at the end of 2008, Coach Fox joined Texas Crew for the 2009 season and coached the Austin Rowing Camp the following summer. Coach Fox's rigorous training program and coaching style has helped revamp the ongoing success of the Texas Crew program. He has coached his Varsity Men to many victories, including gold medals at the Head of the Hooch in 2010. Additionally, Coach Fox was honored in 2011 as the Plains Regions ACRA Coach of the Year.
Stephen Moursund
Position: Varsity Women's Coach

Washington University in St. Louis
Coach Moursund enters his fifth year with Texas Crew and will be filling the void left by departing Varsity Women's coach Jimmy Clark. Moursund is an alumnus of Washington University in St Louis, where he rowed for four years as an undergraduate, serving as the team's captain in 2005-2006. He spent a semester coaching the novice women at his alma mater in the Fall of 2006 before returning to his home state and joining Texas Crew in 2007, where he's been coaching ever since. Moursund's Novice crews have enjoyed steady success with medal finishes in the 8+ and 4+ each year at the Head of the Hooch Regatta, as well as a grand final appearance in the ACRA and SIRA championships. Coach Moursund looks forward to continuing to build a legacy of excellence with the varsity women this year.
Kylie Forbes
Position: Novice Women's Coach
Alma Mater:
University of Alabama
Kylie Forbes was a coxswain for Alabama Crew Club from 2008-2010 before serving as the team’s head coach from 2010-2011. She began rowing in high school for Colorado Junior Crew and followed the sport with her education through undergraduate at the University of Alabama to an MEd in Health Education in Promotion at the University of Texas. Forbes has also coached and competed with master’s and junior’s teams in Colorado and Alabama as well as trained as a recruited walk-on for University of Alabama Women’s Rowing. She started as an assistant coach for Texas Crew under John Mitrowski and began coaching the novice women Spring 2012.
John Mitrowski
Position: Novice Men's Coach
Alma Mater:
University of Texas
Mitrowski began rowing in 2005 with Texas Crew and continued through 2008. He rowed in major competitions from coast-to-coast, including the San Diego Crew Classic, the Head of the Charles, and the Royal Canadian Henley during his collegiate rowing. Upon graduation, John took an assistant coahing position with Texas Crew, and has been working with the Novice Men's team since. Mitrowski also coaches the Competitive Men's and Women's teams at Austin Rowing Club.
