Texas Revue is a proud university tradition that began in the 1950s during Roundup Week under the name "Varsity Revue." This tradition was re-established in 1995 by the UT Leadership Board as "Texas Revue" in order to showcase the phenomenal talent of student organizations and individual performers for the Austin community to enjoy. Since its revival, attendance for the two shows has peaked at more than 7000, making Texas Revue one of the largest campus events of the year. Auditions are held during the spring semester, several weeks before the show.
In the past, the show has included a variety of dancing, music, skits, and
more. From social to service, cultural to professional, the diverse energy of
participating organizations brings students together and shines on stage during Texas Revue
