Jump Cut film festival recently (2002) has given student films reccomendations by stars such as Wes Craven. Finalists are judged by Conference Panalists. Jump Cut is held the day before Conference (Apritl 25th)

CONFERENCE HISTORY
Every year in the month of April, UFA proudly presents an unforgettable event known as UFA Conference. Molded from long hours of hard work, endless phone calls, and pure determination, UFA officers bring the invaluable opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to meet successful members of the film industry.
We consider Conference UFA's signature event because for one day, professional filmmakers and student filmmakers meet in one place for workshops and conversations on film. This presents Conference participants the chance to hear accounts of presenter's experiences in the film industry, as well as advice on how best to pursue film careers.
