| UFG MISSION STATEMENT |

The University Fashion Group was established some 33 years ago and consists of about 150 paid members. UFG is a professional organization open to any UT student, faculty, or staff with an interest in fashion. The group sponsors several fashion shows throughout the year to help others in the Austin community. Each year, UFG helps the Department of Human Ecology host a Spring Fashion Show Spectacular. This fashion show displays the talent of graduating seniors in the Apparel and Design division. It is a big event sponsored by the University Co-op Society among other generous donators and sponsors. UFG invites guest speakers ranging from local boutique owners, up-and-coming fashion designers, costume designers, fashion professionals, as well as UT faculty to their general meetings which are held every other Tuesday. Members are provided with a wide range of resources to help guide them in the right direction for their future careers and aspirations. As the fashion show comes up in the spring, UFG provides leadership and networking experiences by creating committees to aid in the fashion show production.
